- If your dog eats Purina ONE Chicken and Rice, or cat eats Purina ONE + Plus Indoor Advantage, we will be happy to feed it to them during their stay with us at no additional charge. If they eat a different brand, we ask that you bring their food as to not cause digestive upset. We will monitor your pets appetite and take measures to assist them to eat during their stay.
- The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requires us to keep a current rabies vaccination certificate during your dogs stay with us. All other vaccinations are to be administered as your veterinarian recommends for the overall wellness of your dog.
- If we do not have proof of a valid and current rabies vaccination, your dog cannot stay with us.
- Please be sure your pet is flea free before their stay with us!
- Effective September 6th, 2024 the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture passed Senate Bill 82 (Act 47) - requiring all dogs entering the commonwealth to provide a certificate of vaccination and obtain a CVI (certificate of veterinary inspection) accredited by their attending veterinarian. The CVI must state the overall health of the animal and that "the dog shows no signs or symptoms of infection or transmittable disease; did not originate within an area under quarantine for rabies; and has not been exposed to rabies within 100 days of importation". Letters must be dated within 30 days of their stay.
- A CVI is not required for out-of-state dogs staying with us if:
- The dog is staying with us for 30 days or less
- The dog is privately owned
- The ownership of the dog will not be transferred to another person after the dog enters our facility
- A CVI is not required for out-of-state dogs staying with us if:
- We are happy to answer any questions concerning Senate Bill 82 (Act 47). Please give us a call or have your veterinarian give us a call to discuss what the CVI letter must include, if applicable. Please understand this is a Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture policy.
What if my pet takes medication? |
How do you decrease the risk of kennel cough? |
What if my pet has an emergency while I'm gone? |
|
We are happy to administer your pet the necessary medication during their stay with us, though we are not able to accommodate pets with insulin injection needs. Please provide all medications in the original package or prescription bottle.

Our runs are sanitized twice daily and we follow a strict cleaning regimen to mitigate the probability of bacteria and viruses spreading. We have four ionic air purifiers in the building that also assist in keeping our facility's air as clean as possible. Should a dog exhibit symptoms, the owner will be contacted and an isolation plan will be executed to mitigate the possibility of transmission.
|
We ask that you provide two contacts that will be able to pick up your pet in the event of illness, if necessary. In the extreme circumstance of an emergency, we keep Butler Veterinary Associates and Emergency Center as well as PVSEC on call.
